We are kicking off summer by “tending the fire” with a 2 hour Acu-Yoga summer spectacular with Yoga teacher Rebecca and Acupuncturist Aliya. Summer, the fire season, is the hottest and most bountiful of all the seasons and our heart, the emperor of our body and one of the 4 organs of the Fire Element, is predominant during the summer. Come stoke your fire, nurture your heart and reboot from previous seasons by opening, transforming and protecting the flow of energy in order to maintain the spice and essence that is known as You.
To receive this ancient healing we will begin with meridian stretching, pranayama and grounding. You will then be placed in a luscious and supportive restorative pose where Aliya will work her magic by administering Acupuncture. While the needles are in the body a yoga nidra or yogic sleep practice will occur to walk you mentally and spiritually into a meditative place so that you can tap into your primordial Qi.
Limited to 10 people
Yoga for Rebecca is the practice of breath leading movement in order to free mental, spiritual, emotional and physical toxins from the body so that we may reach our True or Higher selves. This practice is not only just being present in-the-now while on your mat, but being able to spread the sheer joy and light off the mat where it matters most.
To be a true teacher, she believes in always being a student first. Rebecca completed 200 hours of Hatha and Iyengar Flow training with Shiva Yoga Peeth in Rishikesh, India. She is also an artist by trade who loves creating paintings, graffiti, books and pencil drawings. Rebecca has led therapeutic art groups to people of all ages and backgrounds, is a trained E.M.T and aspiring to be a Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Acupuncture Studies at the Won Institute.
With a strong knowledge and an insatiable appetite to learn more ancient practices, literatures and experiences through wanderlust, she believes in an open and balanced environment with a non-judgement zone in order to connect with her fellow Yogis.
Aliya is a licensed acupuncturist in Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University in 2014, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Psychology. Her interests in yoga, spirituality and holistic medicine guided her to pursue a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Won Institute where she graduated in 2017. Along with teaching people the benefits of acupuncture her primary mission is to help as many people become their greatest version on all levels of mind, body and spirit.
